Advantages of Corrugated Rubber Hose

Ⅱ. Advantages of corrugated rubber tube


1. Excellent followability


Due to the fully enclosed structure of the bellows seal itself, the dynamic and static rings and the dynamic sealing ring of the shaft sleeve (or shaft) that are necessary in the ordinary spring seal are eliminated in structure, so that the elastic rate of the corrugated hose itself is fully utilized to form a ratio pressure. However, due to the existence of the sealing ring, the ordinary seal needs to consume part of the balancing force when the relative displacement of the moving ring bushing occurs.


The friction force between the seal ring and the shaft sleeve (or shaft) makes the position. The size of the balance force is limited by the processing size, precision and heat treatment of the seal ring, which shows its superior followability.


Common mechanical seals often cause the pump body to be evacuated during use due to various reasons such as device fluctuations or operating processes. At this time, the existence of the moving ring seal makes the end face unable to be reset in time after opening, resulting in the leakage of the mechanical seal.


The corrugated hose mechanical seal structurally eliminates this path of seal failure. It is hardly affected by pump body evacuation, which shows its good compensation. It excels in pumps such as light pumps that are easy to evacuate, vacuum tower bottom pumps, etc. This feature is an important reason for the popularity of bellows seals.


2. High temperature resistance


Since the corrugated rubber tube seal cancels the influence of the moving ring seal in the ordinary spring seal, the applicable medium and temperature are greatly expanded. Usually, the material of the moving ring seal of the ordinary mechanical seal is mostly organic compounds such as PTFE rubber.


In some media, these organic compounds will react with the media throughout the body. At low and high temperatures, its physical properties will change, hardening will occur and the seal will fail.


The bellows seal is not limited by the above factors. It is usually suitable for many media such as benzene, ketone, olefin, alkane and general oil, acid, alkali, salt, etc. The temperature range can also be from -250 degrees to 450 degrees. Of course, this also requires strict material selection, welding and thermal repair of corrugated rubber pipes.


3. Balance


Compared with ordinary mechanical seal, bellows seal does not require steps to be machined on the shaft sleeve. It can establish the equilibrium diameter by itself and is in a state of equilibrium (usually partial equilibrium). When the size parameters of the inner and outer diameter of the corrugated hose can be adjusted to achieve the ideal state, the bellows seal is generally balanced in application.


4. Fewer leaks


The sealing points of the moving ring and the static ring are all metal (non-metallic) gaskets, which are sealed and connected by bolting. It is difficult to have leakage. In fact, the leakage of the mechanical seal of the corrugated rubber pipe is only the dynamic sealing point of the friction pair, so the probability of leakage is undoubtedly greatly reduced.


There are three main leakage channels for ordinary mechanical seals: the dynamic ring seal, the static ring seal and the end face of the friction pair. In these leakage channels, the sealing leakage caused by the failure of the auxiliary sealing ring of the dynamic and static rings accounts for 40% of the total leakage.
