Understanding and Precautions for Using PVC Steel Wire Hose

Introduction to PVC steel wire hose

PVC steel wire hose, also known as PVC steel wire reinforced hose, is composed of three parts: inner PVC tube, steel wire reinforcement, and PVC outer covering. The reinforcement material can be either steel wire braiding or spiral winding. Therefore, the hose has many other names, such as steel wire rubber hose, PVC mesh reinforced hose, etc. In fact, different types of hoses have changed in strength, resistance to twisting, and quality.

The hose absorbs new reinforced PVC materials, greatly improving pressure resistance and hardness. There are many production methods for this type of hose on the market, including high-pressure rubber hose, low-pressure rubber hose, and transparent rubber hose. They are suitable for different working conditions. However, the most commonly used type now is the new steel wire hose.

Classification of steel wire hose

In fact, steel wire hoses can be classified in two ways. They are classified by use and material. Classified by use, there are five types of conduits, drainage hoses, shower hoses, ventilation duct hoses, and wire harness hoses. Among them, conduits are the most commonly used hoses. They are made of steel wire and PVC materials. Therefore, PVC steel wire hoses have good bending ability. Moreover, they can withstand high temperatures and corrosion. More importantly, they are very strong. Even if an adult steps on it, it will not crack. Although there will be a little distortion, it will return to its original shape because of its good elasticity.

Classified by material, there are stainless steel hoses, metal hoses, rubber hose pipes, and plastic hoses. Stainless steel hoses are flexible and can work under high temperatures and corrosive conditions. Although they are usually used to protect wires in automotive electrical appliances. Metal hoses have two types of spiral and ring shapes, and spiral hoses are more popular. They can withstand extreme weather and corrosion. Moreover, they can absorb noise and vibration, so they are widely used in pipeline systems.

Precautions for using PVC steel wire hose

  • When using small-diameter PVC pipeline hoses, solvent should be applied to improve stability and hardness. Otherwise, it is easy to cause leakage during use, which will reduce its normal use and work efficiency.

  • When installing large-diameter PVC hoses (diameter ≥ 100mm), rubber ring interface should be used first. Then arrange personnel to cut the sleeve part. At this time, the incision should be kept clean, otherwise it will bring trouble to the construction personnel during installation.

  • When installing PVC steel wire hoses, if there are no special requirements, they can be directly placed in the pre-dug ditch and then sealed. Of course, in order to improve its service life, many people will add pressure pads.

  • PVC steel pipes are not suitable for high-temperature environments. Harmful gases are easily released into the human body, causing pollution and changes in liquid transfer. Therefore, when using PVC steel wire hoses, special attention must be paid to installation conditions.
