How to Test the Abrasion of Rubber Hose Pipes?

1. Test the abrasion of rubber hose pipes

For rubber hose pipes, abrasion is one of the necessary attributes. The abrasion resistance of rubber is closely related to the quality of rubber materials. After the hose is produced, it is tested in a certain proportion. Abrasion test is one of them. The following is about the rubber wear performance test process.

2. Test conditions for rubber hose pipe abrasion

Rubber oil hose, rubber air hose, etc. adopt the standard Akron abrasion test method. In order to obtain high repetition rate test results, the test conditions must be strict. The test results show that the error of the angle between the rubber wheel shaft and the grinding wheel shaft, the hardness of the rubber wheel, the thickness of the rubber bottom plate and the ambient temperature all have a certain influence on the test results.

The greater the angle between the rubber wheel shaft and the grinding wheel shaft of rubber hose pipe, the greater the friction reduction effect. In addition, the increase in the hardness of the rubber wheel, the increase in the thickness of the test piece, and the increase in the test temperature will also increase the reduction in wear.

3. Test procedures for rubber hose pipe abrasion

After pre-grinding for 15-20 minutes, take off the viscose test wheel, brush off the glue crumbs, and weigh. Use the sample to test after pre-grinding. After driving 1.61km, remove and brush off the glue debris, and weigh within 1h (accurate to 0.001g).

Several factors that lead to poor reproducibility of the test results of rubber hose wear: Through comparative analysis of various test conditions, we believe that the influence of equipment is the main one, especially the angle between the rubber wheel shaft and the grinding wheel shaft and the load borne by the sample have a great influence on the test results.
