What Are the Possible Problems when Using Rubber Hose Pipes?

Food-grade rubber hose pipe is a tubular rubber product used for conveying food fluids, including gas, liquid or powdered materials. It is composed of inner and outer rubber layers and skeleton layer. The material of the skeleton layer is mainly cotton fiber, synthetic fiber, carbon fiber, asbestos, steel wire, etc.


Ⅰ. Fault analysis of the outer rubber layer of the food-grade rubber hose pipes


1. Cracks appear on the surface of the rubber hose pipes. The main reason for cracks on the surface of rubber hose pipes is that the hose pipe is bent in cold conditions.


2. Bubbles appear on the surface of the rubber hose pipes. The main reason for bubbling on the surface of rubber hose pipes is the poor quality of rubber hose pipes, or the improper use during work.


3. The rubber hose pipe is unbroken but oozes oil heavily. When the high-pressure liquid flows through the rubber hose pipes, the rubber is eroded or scraped. The large leakage of the wire layer results in a large amount of oil seepage.


4. The outer layer of the rubber hose pipes deteriorates seriously, and the surface microcrack is the natural aging of the hose pipe. The aging causes the outer layer to oxidize, which coats it with a layer of ozone.


The ozone thickens over time. A rubber hose will crack if it is slightly bent in service. Please replace the hose in time in this case.


Ⅱ. Fault analysis of the inner rubber layer of the food-grade rubber hose pipes


1. The inner layer of the rubber hose pipes is hard and cracked. The main reason is that plasticizer is contained in rubber products to make the hose flexible and plastic. But if the hose overheats, plasticizer will spill out.


2. The inner rubber layer of the rubber hose pipes is seriously deteriorated and obviously swollen. The reason is that the rubber material in the hose is incompatible with the oil in the hydraulic system, and the hose is deteriorated by chemical action.


Ⅲ. Fault analysis of the reinforced layer of the food-grade rubber hose pipes


1. The rubber hose is broken, and the braided steel wire near the tear is rusted, causing the hose to break. The main reason is that the layer is affected by the action of wet or corrosive substances, and the hose strength is reduced, so when the hose pipe bears high pressure, it breaks.


2. The reinforced layer of the rubber hose pipes is not rusted, but the irregular broken wire phenomenon appears continuously on the reinforced layer. The main reason is that rubber hose products are affected by high frequency impact.


Ⅳ. Fault analysis of the broken place on the food-grade rubber hose pipes


1. The rubber hose pipe breaks in one or more places. The split is neat, and other part of the hose pipe is in good condition. The main cause is that the system pressure exceeds the pressure tolerance of the hose pipe.


2. The rubber hose is twisted at the break. The main reason is that rubber hose products are excessively twisted during installation or use.


Ⅴ. Precautions for using a rubber hose pipe


1. The rubber hose should be arranged as far away from the engine exhaust pipe as possible, and the deployment should avoid heat source. If it is necessary, casing or protective screen can be used to avoid thermal deterioration of the rubber hose pipes.


2. For the places where the rubber hose pipe crosses or may rub against the mechanical surface when working, protective devices such as hose clips or springs should be equipped with to protect the outer layer of the rubber hose pipes from damage.


3. When the rubber hose pipes must be bent, you should notice that the bending radius should not be too small. It normally should be greater than 9 times the outer diameter. There should be a straight line at the connection between the rubber hose and the connector twice the outer diameter of the pipe.


4. During installation, the rubber hose pipes should be avoided in a tight state. Keep the hose loose even if there is no relative movement at both ends. The tensioned hose will expand and lose strength under pressure.


5. Please be careful not to twist the hose during installation. A slight twist of the rubber hose pipes may reduce its strength and loosen the joint. When assembling, you should tighten the joint on the hose, not tighten the hose on the joint.


6. If the rubber hose pipe is connected to key components, you are advised to periodically check or replace it.
